After three weeks, the separation between my granddaughter and my daughter is getting easier, although some days are touch and go, especially if she is teething and feeling out of sorts. Today was one of those days, but I found that there are many small games I can play to distract her. I found that one of the things that babies enjoy is looking out the window, a window away from the door where her mother just exited. And baby M. loves knocking noises, so we immediately go to the window and look for birds and squirrels. She is still at an age where I can find many imaginary animals. Look, and then knock, knock, knock, and she has forgotten that her mom is off to work. If I am lucky, we do see several squirrels and birds. I would like to hear other suggestion regarding easy, distracting activities.
